What Is The Difference Between Hydration and Moisture? With Recipes to Create Your Own Organic Product at Home.

Many people think of hydration and moisture as two words that mean the same thing. In reality, a hydrator is completely different from a moisturizer.

How?

A moisturizer’s effect on the skin is that it reduces the water lost by the epidermis forming a barrier over the surface. By doing so, moisturizers reduce the risk of evaporation of the existing moisture of your skin throughout the day.

One thing to mention is that healthy and normal skin is able to protect itself from moisture loss by producing lipid cells or what we call sebum.

While a moisturizer’s job is to keep the moisture inside the skin, a hydrating product is formulated to increase the water content of the skin. Ingredients are added to these products for their abilities to attract water from their surroundings through adsorption.

But… What Kind Of Ingredients Do These Product Include?

If you are worried about the commercial products found, well basically anywhere, and the ingredients they contain, you are right to worry! Every other day, news reports shine light on the harmful effects that ingredients used in our daily personal care products have on our health. But, the good news is, there is a way to ensure that the products you use are gentle on both your body and your environment.

You’ve Guessed It… By Making Your Own
