Celebrate Valentine’s In Gratitude and Love With These Affirmations

Everything in our life is a mirror of our mind. This means that how we experience our daily life is the result of all our beliefs and thoughts.

That applies to the topic of love and relationships. To find, appreciate, and have love with another, we need to start with loving ourselves. We tend to look for love on the outside first because we think we need it to be better or complete. When you’re needy of love, it means that you’re missing love and approval from the most important person you know — yourself.

When we struggle with finding love, we usually tend to blame ourselves or give reasons such as “ I don’t deserve love” or “ I am not good enough for him/her” etc. This negative self-talk keeps us stuck in a cycle of low self-worth and self-esteem which in turn affects our capacity to love ourselves and as a result the possibility of finding love.

One way to change these perceptions and learn to love ourselves first is with affirmations. We have gathered some of our favorites as a start. Repeating these on a daily basis will help you transform these negative perceptions and see love all around and feel more grateful for it.

“Love is around every corner, and joy fills my entire world.”

Love is everywhere we go and in everything we see. Whether it is in a growing plant or flower, or in the warm welcome of a pet, seeing love all around will bring you happiness and internal peace.

“I’m grateful for this love lesson I learned from this old relationship.”

Broken relationships can help us grow and know ourselves better. Instead of just feeling sad or angry for a failed relationship, looking at how this experience helped us grow to become a better version of ourself is a great way to start feeling more grateful for the experience.

“This person loved me through one of the toughest times of my life, and I’m beyond grateful.”

This could be literally anyone, a friend, colleague, therapist or a parent. Simply remembering the people who stood by you during tough times, will make you feel more love and gratitude towards them and you are more likely to treat them in the same manner one day.

“Love happens! I release the desperate need for love, and instead, allow it to find me in the perfect time.”

True love happens when we are ready for it, not because we need it. It is easy to mistake other feelings for love when we are not ready for it. Let it find you at the right time.

“I have come to this planet to learn to love myself more, and to share that life with all those around me.”

Before we start loving others, it is important to start loving ourselves first. It is only then, that love will find us.

“I am loveable, I deserve love and I am ready to receive love.”

With this one, we help integrate all of the previous affirmations.

This Valentine day and everyday, remember to love yourself and feel gratitude for the love you receive from others!

You can also share some of your favorite affirmations with us. We would love to hear from you!
