Everything you need to know about Bone Broth!

Bone broth has been called one of the most powerful superfoods available today! If you haven’t tried it yet, it is time you embrace one of the most healing foods in the world. It is no wonder that our mothers and grandmothers used to tell us to have some hot broth soup to heal any kind of illness.

So what is bone broth?

Bone broth (homemade of course) is made by simmering bones for a time ranging between 10 to 48 hours depending on the animal used. What happens during the long cooking process is that the low and long simmering releases the collagen, marrow, amino acids, minerals, glycine and gelatin etc.. from the bones into the broth.

This makes the broth extremely rich in these nutrients as well as minerals such as phosphorous, magnesium, calcium and more.

To prepare your bone broth, you can use bones from poultry, cattle, or fish. The nutrient content will vary depending on the animal used, however the benefits are still quite significant.
